YAN Han really should be competing senior for the whole season... And getting semi-decent choreo.

Too bad about P/T. Are S/H going to worlds or don't they know yet?

Reports say they have been training, nothing more. Considering P/T's injury and P/Z's inexperience, I think S/H will compete as long as SUI is in somewhat acceptable condition.

Hope so! Really it's in Song's best interest...he has better odds to get to compete in the Olympics in Sochi if Yan goes to Worlds this year IMO. I like Song and he has some huge jumps but so does Yan and he's a more well-rounded skater, better speed, higher PCS, and has that young up-and-coming JWC thing going for him. I think Yan can likely place top 10 at Worlds whereas for Song it would probably be a stretch, he'd need to be like, perfect and hit all his quads, whereas Yan can maybe afford a few mistakes.

Poor Tong! Pang and Tong have already had a marvellous career, and even though I will miss them, nobody should be forced to skate is such pain. They were good in GPF, but you could see the tiredness and tentativiness. I wish they were allowed to rest.

I just saw a tweet about Nan SONG going to Worlds - any Chinese article or other reliable source links?

jjane45, I've re-posted your Pang/Tong article link and translated summary (thanks!) in this relevant GSD thread: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/show...=1#post3842627

It would be crazy not to send Yan Han to Worlds. He can definitely place top 10. Song Nan's chances to do that are really slim.

PANG / TONG did not take any break during the Chinese New Year because he is going thru injections, ultrasound, and various medical treatments. "Two weeks from the World Championships, there is no time to lose."

The injections TONG received did not bring satisfactory results, doctors advised that they should withdraw from Worlds to buy more time for Sochi Olympics. "But this year's Worlds are too important to give up, and there is no guarantee that the knee will recover fully after surgery."

TONG says he is "clinging onto" his jump attempts. "Tried the double axels. Also tried one triple toe last Tuesday and Thursday. On Friday it was very painful, and I dared not to continue jumping on Saturday."

He says he can still compete at Worlds but definitely is not in the best condition. Cannot quite bend the knees and lost some speed. Hoping to last through both programs and aiming at top six, the qualification (for 3 spots) is not easy.

"If the knee surgery after Worlds can solve the problem, we will absolutely compete at Sochi Olympics. If the surgery is not successful, we have no alternative but to give it our best."
    This is just sick.

It really isn't worth to risk permanent damage to your body to earn Olympic spots...

We don't know what happened to Yan Han. Considering his name also being gone from JW, it could be illness or injury (though I hope not).

eta: Just checked his weibo. He said he is training fine and does not understand why there's a rumor of injury.

eta: Anyway, Yan Han isn't the national champion. So him not going isn't that unfair.

Eta:all that assuming the tweet is correct about Song going to worlds, and that is a big if

Well if he is not injured, the only reason he isn't going to Jr Worlds is probably because he is going to Sr Worlds instead.

Haha no surprise. He called himself 杨过 (a single-armed character from famous martial arts novel) in a weibo post after 4CC FS, and fans know he must have hurt / dislocated his arm again. Glad he is training fine and let's hope at least he has some idea about the worlds entry. People are speculating like crazy these couple days!

ETA: YAN Han did clarify shortly after 4CC that it was a minor shoulder dislocation.

I never got the Yang Guo reference. For one thing he is not in love with his coach. Second he is no rebel.

I'm enormously confused. Are you saying that even though they've named Song, they could still swap in Yan at the last minute?
