polina 1 at sc and polina 2 in france don´t seem to be able to fight for one of that three spots (given the circumstances, adelina, liza and alena are save with a small chance of ksenia, if she really can deliver)

i´ll cross my fingers for her to, but chances and skates like that won´t come around too often.
she needs to qualify at a b-senior, the chances for her getting the TES at euros are very low in my opinion.

Isabelle Olsson Her stewardess program is all kinds of perky and fun! Great score!

Great jumping from Turkkila! But UGH she missed the Worlds TES minimum by about 1 point AGAIN. Third time now. Must've had low spin levels. At least in the last spin she didn't manage to hold her Biellmann for 3 revs. (Then again, I'm not sure if she already has it from last year? ETA: She does, 28.18 from Worlds)

Popova is another one who has made remarkable progress since last year!

And Isabelle did the minimal TES to worlds in the short. At Finlandia Trophy she did the minimal TES for free skating. Viktoria and Josi has to look out! Shame that Sweden don´t have 3 places to Europeans (they missed with one spot last year..)

Bush wins the free but manages to only move up to 6th.

Congrats to Keegan, Max and Peter on their medals!
I meant to take the high road.... but I missed the exit.

Bush was a very weak and low 15th in the sp. Winning the free is great. I am surprised he managed to hang on to the fs lead. 15th to 1st to 6th overall.

From what I saw in the live stream, he didn't seem to reach the end of the rink?

Polina K That's how you jump! Program was kinda lifeless until the steps (and maybe even then) but she got the job done!

I didn't think it was lifeless. She has natural ability to look elegant. I think she can't hit a bad position. It looked very tidy, very pretty. Lovely extensions.

Oh I definitely agree with all of that! She is a huge natural talent and her skating is incredibly beautiful to watch. But at the same time I often get the vibe that she's not enjoying it very much. That doesn't mean it's true but that's what it seems like to me because she's not very expressive.

E.g. Afonkina was much more enjoyable to watch in that regard although she had the most horrendous program. But she looked like she actually wanted to be there. For me that's a huge part of enjoying watching somebody skate.

ETA: Russian girls rocking it! Good(ish) skates from all three of Korobeynikova, Zaseeva and Agafonova.

I think she is still concentrating too much on her jumps and doesn't have much time (or brain capacity) left to think of presentation. When I skate, I also look miserable (blank face, no emotion etc) no matter whether I enjoy it or not. When my coach started to demand that I am smiling when skating, it threw all my technique away. I know it sounds weird, but when you are concentrating on keeping smiling, suddenly you don't have time to think about legs. (of course in time it will become automatic but it takes time to learn that.) Let Polina concentrate for now, I think she will get the presentation later.
