"Liza had a back and knee injury. And another problem is her transitional age," Mishin said. "It's a tough period in the life of every girl, and Liza is going through it right now."

Too bad. She has to not put in jeopardy anything and not compete if it will cause problems because the goal is really Sochi for which the road starts at Worlds 2013.

I am going to miss her during the GP series. For me, she is the most fun to watch. Hopefully she will be well enough to compete at worlds in 2013.

It's best for her to take it easy now but have a long term career ahead of her than overstrain herself risking career-ending injuries.

Oh nooo... i was really looking forward to see her answer her critics with better ice coverage and better programs. Hope she will take good care of herself and come back stronger. That is one talented young lady I am sure going to miss.

I'm glad Mishin is giving her some space. I'm surprised he is coaching a female skater at all because he has always expressed frustration with this aspect of coaching females.
I am in the K&C at the 1980 Olympics telling Frank Carroll he will have a male skater from KAZ with a 4T, 3A-3T and a World Silver going into the 2014 Olympics ...

Which is probably why Svetlana Veretennikova is her primary coach.

I don't think I've ever heard puberty referred to as "a transitional age" but it's an apt description.

Hope she can heal soon and train wisely to prevent any more injuries.

He said he took Tuk on because her technique was so pure.

UPDATE: Mishin was quoted in a Russian article published yesterday that Liza T. WILL be competing at Skate Canada (she also skated her "Love Story" SP in the St. Petersburg Cup competition today - video can be found later in this same thread in GSD, [ETA] along with her FS video): http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/show...77#post3707277
