I'm looking forward to "Sherlock" even more than "Downtown Abbey".

I enjoyed watching this NATURE episode:
A behind-the-scenes look at how EARTHFLIGHT was made, including the extraordinary relationships between people and birds. Microlights, paragliders, drones, and camera-carrying birds and much more helped along the way. EARTHFLIGHT invites us to see the world from a bird’s perspective with state-of-the-art technology and sophisticated camera techniques that take viewers on a breathtaking aerial adventure over six continents. It took series producer John Downer and his team four years to film more than 100 bird species in 40 different countries, capturing amazing viewpoints that have never been seen before. Film premiered October 9, 2013. Available [online] until November 6, 2013. (Restricted to U.S. and Territories.)

I'm also looking forward to Sherlock more than Downton. It's just brilliant.

I have decided that my new favorite line is from the most recent episode of Paradise:

"Excuse me, I have a sudden passion to sort buttons"

On that note, I shall depart, as did the character. Exit stage left.

Duplicate insanity. Evidently the thread didn't want me to go elsewhere.

This is a fascinating look at the events of 1938, and what made the radio drama so realistic and believable to so many.

I'm enjoying this series more and more. Much more interesting than Mr. Selfridge imo...more unexpected twists and turns make for quite a compelling story.

Has everyone seen the first official Sherlock S3 image which the BBC released last night? Having read descriptions of the scene being filmed at the time, I think I just might be more curious about what's going on in this scene than how Sherlock survived the Fall. http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/lat...ies-three.html

eta And this morning the date for the world premiere of The Empty Hearse with q & a at the BFI has been announced as December 15. There's an episode synopsis on the BFI site. Not really a big spoiler, but just in case anyone's concerned:

    Spoiler

I am in neutral about "Downton", but I cannot wait for "Sherlock". They still have not released UK air date. I want to see it! On computer, on some weird feed, I do not care. The series are brilliant, and the wait- far too long.

Great production by the San Francisco Opera Co. of "Moby Dick". Jay Hunter Morris as Capt. Ahab. Excellent cast, great staging.

I just caught the re-broadcast of Sondheim's Company, which was from a 2011 concert performance with the NY Philharmonic. It was fabulous--Neil Patrick Harris was great as Bobby, Patti LuPone owned "Ladies Who Lunch" and I was so impressed by actors (Stephen Colbert, Martha Plimpton, Jon Cryer, Christina Hendricks), whom I'd only seen in TV roles.

If you can catch another re-run, I'd highly recommend it!

OK, there is a show on PBS, set in Britain (duh) and it involves something to do with atomic research and clandestine activities. It is set in the ... 50s? Anyone know what it is?
