Not suggesting it isn't possible, just that she would have to be at the very top of her game. My observation is that Olympic competitions are judged differently than Worlds, so my expectations are generally pretty low.

    How are they judged differently?

That's an interesting question and I don't mean to get into a judging argument, but I do think the judging is tougher on the skaters who aren't generally considered podium finishers. For example, a mistake in the SP/SD gets a 10th place at worlds but a 15th place at Olympics.

Congrats to Ravi! Can's wait to see both of them in the K&C in the forthcoming competitions. Looking forward to seeing Kaetlyn growing as a figure skater.

He certainly is on the map now. He seems like a smart coach as well......not pushing too much.....just enough.

Was this video ever posted here? Found this CBC feature on Kaetlyn that, I assume, was shown during CBC's 2013 Worlds broadcast: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cooqBN4vUWs

    She ( @kaetlyn23 ) tweeted on May 27:
"Started my new short today! Gonna be an interesting year :p #roadtosochi"

    June 4:
    "Great night at commencements #grad2013"

    And on June 8:
"Had an absolute blast at grad last night and an awesome time at the after grad so exciting!!!!"

He was already on the map as a mean technical specialist.

A tidbit I came across today.......it's in French, but it's about Kaetlyn's fittings for her costuming this year......and it sounds like she skating to Cleopatra, and something from "Sweet Charity".......don't know which is short and which is long.........someone will have to do some major sleuthing .......here's the link: http://fr.video.sympatico.ca/actuali...1#.Ud3jEUqJ5lQ

She said in the piece the short is from Sweet Charity and the long is Cleopatra.

She can pull that off. Having one of her programs be show tunes makes sense for her personality.
I hope Sweet Charity is NOT Big Spender. That music turns me off a little. Anything else would work.

Big Spender drives me nuts, especially when it is a six year old skating to it

Even Kaetlyn is a bit young for it.
A good rant is cathartic. Ranting is what keeps me sane. They always come from a different place. Take the prime minister, for example. Sometimes when I rant about him, I am angry; other times, I am just severely annoyed - it's an important distinction. - Rick Mercer

Pretty dresses. Definitely an improvement from last season. Let’s hope Ravi approves. Possibly her SP music could be If My Friends Could See Me Now. A bit more appropriate than Big Spender IMO. She and Ravi were here in Winnipeg on the weekend to do a seminar with our competitive skaters, and she tweeted this photo of what I assume is the closing pose from one of her new programs.

The last lady who skated to Cleopatra at the Olympics had a pretty awesome season.

Wow.. I can imagine Kaetlyn skating to both music and playing two different roles. Sweet and vivacious versus exciting and dramatic. Can't wait!

I think that the music selection suits her personality.
Cannot wait to see the programs.
I dont think those will be the final costumes but they are certainly costumes in the making.
Joannie used to use a designer in Quebec - I think Yuna used her also for the last Olys. I wonder if its the same one.

Yes, this is the same designer that used to do Joannie and Yuna. You can see some of Joannie's dresses on the wall behind Kaetlyn

Does anyone know which "Cleopatra" this refers to? (I cringe to think its the same musical wallpaper as Miki Ando's 2010 LP, Or Cynthia Phaneuf's unbelievably campy "Mission Cleopatra" )

I believe the designer did the costumes of many other elite skaters such as Cynthia Phaneuf, Mao Asada and others whose choreographers are mostly Canadians. I love the beautiful costumes of Joannie's done by her.
