New Canadian champion. Or at least I'd be shocked if she didn't win.

Those 3flips look so easy. Does she not do 3loop yet?

What definitely separates her from other Canadian ladies such as Phaneuf and Lacoste is that she skates with ferocity and attack rather than seemingly meeting the night of her execution on death row. Hopefully, that positive attitude will carry her far. No doubt Canada will hype her; isn't this their first gold medal in senior international ladies since Rochette's gold medal win at 2009 Skate Canada?

    Thanks for the links.

She's very good... for a Canadian lady. Should be a shoo-in for Canadian champion now that Cynthia's out and all the other Canadian ladies are utterly forgettable deer-in-the-headlights / headcases.

Would love to see her stay consistent (especially in far higher-pressure events than Nebelhorn) and keep growing, especially with respect to power. But everything that is there is a strong foundation for what lies ahead. She will likely not make a huge splash on the world scene this year, but is developing nicely, just in time for next year.

Congrats Kaetlyn. Good for Canada. Continue to grow and see you more often on the podiums.

If she does a 3/3 of some sort in the SP and LP (or at least one), she'd have to be in the top ten, right? I mean, ladies are still ladiezzzz.

That performance makes me less irritated that CTV showed her SP ten million times last year.

Her score here would've had her sixth at Worlds last season.

Wow, I hadn't expected Osmond to win Nebelhorn Trophy but good for her that she managed to finish first with a strong LP performance. Wish Kaetlyn many more great results to come, she's really very pleasant to watch.

Poor Katelyn, the pressure is going to be insane now. :/

Her jumps are incredible though. You don't see North American skaters with jumps that high very often.

I can see why people thought that the double toe in the triple flip double toe was a triple toe. Her jumps are enormous. I hope she gets the triple loop soon.
I want to thank you Lord for being with me so far this day. With your help, I have not been inpatient, lost my temper been grumpy or envious of anyone. But I will be getting out of bed in a minute and I think I will really need your help then. Amen

Agreed .. if only us Cdn fans could just enjoy this quietly and let the kid develop.

Hopefully she can stay consistent and continue on. I wouldn't count on Sotnikova's falls.
I'm happy for Kaetlyn, she deserved first place

That's interesting - Amelie Lacoste has been doing Sr. Internationals for a good 3-4 years now and her best ever long program was still only barely over 100, yet Kaetlyn gets 114+ on her first try.

I think the noticeable distinction is that Osmond has her all her toe jumps already in pretty good shape at 16 while Lacoste has still not yet managed to grasp any sort of consistency on toe jumps.

See, all my predictions come true. How long have I been saying that somebody in figure skating would do well because other skaters present made errors? I just knew this would happen. I'm even going to go on record as saying that this will happen AGAIN at some point within in the next decade. Mark my word!!!
