    Very old videos of current coaches as skaters

    I found this very old video of Tatiana Tarasova as a pairs skater. I had never seen her skating.

    She was good! Great carriage I thought, and killer death spiral. Funny how simple lifts were in those days - barely held a position, no changes.

    Without seeing her competitors, I give her points for what appears to be an ambitious program, but she'd get trounced by any of her students today! The head flung back was distracting, but not enough to hide the lack of unison, and unsureness of her movements.

    Indeed! The feat they perform these days are amazing and so demanding on the body. But this does not take away the beautiful skating of the old-timers.

    Navka/Morozov FD at 1998 Olympics skated almost entirely on 2 feet. Navka is extremely thin with short brown hair. They look like they borrowed Torvill/Dean's Bolero costumes.

    That's their EX at 1965 Europeans.
    Her partner was Georgi Proskurin.
