Story about a bullying prank that turns out nice

Cute story about a mean prank on a high school girl that has a happy ending.

Good for Whitney and all the people that supported her.

It may turn out okay but that won't prevent the bullying from going on. It's good to see the community rally round her but who's next?

The "let's vote for someone no one likes for homecoming court" thing happens a lot. I've seen it. It just doesn't end up publicized.

Schools need to rethink sponsoring popularity contests in the first place.

Very nice story. Hope the kids being mean have learned from it.

I'd hope so, but I doubt it. But at least she knows the kind people outnumber the jerks.

Suddenly I'm grateful I went to an all-girls school that didn't have Homecoming Court.

My all girls high school had a prom queen - who was chosen by a random draw from everyone in attendance.

And that High School isn't the real world.

Here's another take on the "happy ending" to this story:

Whether they take the good actions of others to hear right away is debatable, but I like the idea of "planting seeds" - that sometimes that the positive things we put out there just need some time to grow. So if they don't learn from it now, there's always the future where they can start to follow the good examples.
