Here here!! But I too appreciate that she sieged the moment.

    Very disappointing final.

Absolutely agree, topaz! Seems to be a nice young lady. I'm happy for her as I learn more about her odd upbringing and her career.
Congratulations, Mademoiselle Bartoli, Wimbledon Champion! Keep on having fun and enjoying your moment!

Yikes, what a mess that final was. I do have to hand it to Bartoli though, she really played the big points well and handled the occasion. I am okay with her winning it. She's worked and really deserved the win today, sure she got fortunate with her draw, but sometimes you need the breaks to go your way and that's sport for you! Poor Sabine, she had four great wins and I think was just spent today, hopefully she'll learn from this and get another crack it someday.

Bartoli played well, handled the tensions and nerves of the occasion and congratulations to her for triumphing.

Lisicki was the opposite. I don't think she could have hit a ball in the court today. The poor thing absolutely imploded. I think she was stunned by how badly she was playing and was unable to refocus on her game. She looked like she was focusing on the fact that she was going to lose Wimbledon instead of just playing point by point to work herself back into the math. Being in tears during a poor service game before the match was even over clearly showed her panic. Bartoli was playing well and made a come back difficult, but Lisicki was able to come back against Serena so it was not just that. Hopefully she will accept the fact that she had a great Wimbledon and realize that she has what it takes to be near the top. If she forgets about the negatives, she will see that this chance will come again for her and will be more prepared to handle the occasion.

Surely if Marion Bartoli can be the Wimbledon champion, a British player can do it. C'mon, Andy!

If Andy wins, and Kate has a baby boy anytime this week, I think Andrew will be one of the names. Just sayin'!

kim has beautiful hair. considering i have only ever seen her on tv when she was outside, it seems impervious to humidity and weather.

To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.

Murray with the early break in the third set. Novak just has nothing left.

Pretty boring final for the men as well. Good for Murray though.

Way to go Andy! Thank goodness that's over, and we no longer have to hear about '77 years since a British man.' Didn't expect that domination though. Novak was just worn out I guess. Not very good finals on either side and I expected they would be, however great semi finals kinda made up for it. On to the U.S. Open!
