Yeah. Me too. I always wonder just what I'm missing from the commentary (and I hate that)...but I just CANNOT take it!!!

Do the guys' grunts ever bother you?

Sure, the guys don't normally break the sound barrier with their expressive efforts. Maybe it gets to the point where Azarenka and Sharapova are trying to intimidate via vocal cords.

Hmmm, that would indeed be interesting, eh? And maybe even fitting after their long rivalry that it'd be Federer to dethrone Nadal in a French final after all these years, and in the twilight of both their careers.

Yet though, I'm still pulling for Nadal, the never-say-die champion of champions to win again ...

Kuznetsova is playing great. Too bad she has Serena in the quarterfinals so will probably lose. Had Serena not been hitting a new clay peak it would have been Kuzy's 3rd slam here.

Kuznetsova has snuck deep into the draw and I hardly noticed. Go her! American women are surprising. Glad Haas keeps winning because he is hot. :-)

Some do. Guga Kuerten had a pretty annoying vocalization. And a lot of women don't bother me with their vocalizations. Sharapova and Azarenka go way beyond "exertion of effort."

Roger is killing me today. Knew this match would probably be tough but I don't think I can watch anymore.

Sets in the City - Tennis 2012 III

I can't listen to Errani, either. I'd add her to Sharapova and Azarenka.

But meanwhile WTF Roger??? He's self destructing against Simon ever since the fall. Crap.

Roger looks back on form now. I'm nervous about Tsonga though.

Simon really took it to Federer there - that was a tough win!! Tsonga is going to be tougher though - should be an awesome match however!!

My heart was breaking! I just left the house when it looked hopeless for Roger.
Came back an hour later and...and...WHAT? He actually...WON???

Next week's matchups include...Schiavone vs. Azarenka!

Wawrinka vs Gasquet was always going to be a heartbreaker as I admire both men very much. Still Wawrinka came back from 2 sets down to win 8-6 in the 5th - wow!!

Federer down 2 sets to love. Tsonga is looking too good, I don't know if Federer has a chance coming back unless Tsonga self implodes. Anything is possible with Federer, though.

Why are we still discussing grunting in the ladies game. The current players grunt, shriek, scream .. whatever you want to call it. You can't ask 25 year old women who have 6 to 8 years left in their career to stop it after being allowed to do since they were 10 years old.

The WTA is taking efforts to curb it with the young players.

Also, the WOMEN are being picked on for grunting then the men need to be too. I think it's sexist for those who bring up this issue for the women players but say NOTHING about the men who grunt. 70% of the top 25 men's player grunt yet I don't hear any calls to restrict their noises.

Can players where earplugs if the shrieks really bother them? As for viewers, if possible, turn on your closed captioning. This way, you get the commentary without the shrieking and grunting. I find it to be very helpful in general.

At work so only watching scores but the Jankivic-Sharapova match seems bizarre do far. Would love to see Jank pull the upset but Maria seems to have woken up in the 2nd set....
