Is the program Akiko Suzuki skated to at 2012 Carnival on Ice her new SP ?
I hope they can do this piece of music justice because all versions I can remember were pretty terrible.
Khokhlova and Novitski used that version of Bolero at the 2006 Olympics.![]()
Hmmm, is this then what Aliona was referring to when she was quoted in GSD "...loud Jodel ..." thread: "Everything has to grow and now we are ready to interpret this music."
I love Aliona and Robin, and Ingo, but the flamenco flavor doesn't necessarily enhance the music or disguise the rhythm: Dun dun dun dunna dunna dun dun dun done before ...

But it is a bit different than the original version. And in this case I really agree with "it doesn't matter so much what one does, as how one does it". If, for instance, Sui/Han or someone else announced that they were doing this, I'd be, but I think that Savchenko/Szolkowy (+ Steuer) are exactly the pair that can make something interesting with this. Because the music itself calls for something interesting, but most skaters are just not able to do it justice.
^^ Okay, lauravvv, thanks for the pep talk. You are right that S/S/S are genius at what they create together on the ice. Maybe when I see their fp, I will hear the music with different ears.![]()
I'm a bitat hearing that I/K are skating to Ghost the Musical. I hope I am pleasantly surprised, but after listening to some selections......
^^ Is this the version perhaps:

I thought it would be the soundtrack to the 2010 Roman Polanski film - I think it was called The Ghost Writer in the US, but was released as The Ghost in the UK and Ireland. The score is by Alexandre Desplat: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hkR4KUfy_E
