The best Rena did the Worlds and the Olympics with a good partner was 4th and 7th respectively. Do you really think she can get an Olympic bronze with a sub-par partner? I second what Moka-Ananas said.

Say whatever you want about it being ludicrous, but both are strong jumpers. Who cares about age anymore? There are plently of skaters that are still competing who are considered "up there" in age. Go back and check tapes, Leftheris had strong jumps. I think only missing one at the National Championships? Most of his placements were due to his partners mistakes. My opinion is that they could be strong contenders. There haven't been that many consistent teams in the last couple of years. Pang and Tong for example used to have great placements, but are dropping off. Remember Rena and Themi both have a triple lutz and I believe flips. That hasn't been competed. On paper with SBS and tplaxl throw that's a lot of points.

sub par? Are we watching the same skater? He has been one of the most consistent athletes the US has had and National finishes weren't much to do with his errors. If you'd like to suggest that Rockne, or Ladwig are stronger and better jumpers I'd like to hear it. They have however had the good fortune to have decent partners who could stand up most of the time. Even though one skated with barely a teenager, and the other who always had jumps downgraded.

There's no age limit. This isn't juniors.

But she is turning 36 in October and I think she had a baby last year, so I think that ship has sailed.

I always wished that Rena would have teamed up with Aaron Parchem. Oh well....
