    Gold number seven for Ireland!
To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.

I'm sorry, what's the "proper combined medal table"? That is, unless it's something I don't want to know?

I know - I nearly fell off my seat when I saw him I assume he must have done some charity work associated with the paralympics as that seems to be a theme with most people presenting medals who are not royalty or mp's!!

They are up to 8 now - Jason Smyth is an awesome sprinter - he just in that 200m final!! He is also a very eloquent speaker - in his post race interview on C4 he spoke about how people must make the most of what they have and not worry about what might happen in matters that they can't control (or words to that effect).

NBC has suddenly started showing the Paralympics on Universal Sports! I have no idea if what I'm watching took place this week, last week, or today, but yippee! It looks like they'll have coverage over the next few days. Pretty much just in time for the event to finish.

And so, dear Lord, it is with deep sadness that we turn over to you this young woman, whose dream to ride on a giant swan resulted in her death. Maybe it is your way of telling us... to buy American.

Israeli wheelchair tennis player Noam Gershony wins Israel's first gold (Israel has 7 medals in total).
Gershony, - a former Apache helicopter pilot who was paralyzed in a crash during the Second Lebanon War in 2006, - played against David Wagner of the US, beating him 6-3; 6-1.

SUch a shame Olympic Broadcasting decided not to offer live coverage of the marathon C$ are doing a good job of piecing it together and commentating. Being patriotic there is a chance of two more medals for Paralympics GB, but all athletes wheeling 26 miles at this level of competition deserve to be shown!

ETA Dave Weir wins gold medal number 4 800m, 1500m. 5000m and a marathon that is some amazing racing

The coverage of the marathons was absolutely dire.

There was very little coverage of the rowing and cycling road races too.

I hope OBC can raise more money in Rio to allow them to offer the coverage these athletes deserve. I read somewhere they had raised the most ever for Paralympic broadcasting rights at just under 20 million pounds in contrast for the Olympics NBC alone paid over 1.1 billion dollars so its no wonder they can't offer similar levels of coverage.

Oh and if I never hear Sonja McLaughlan ever say "hard lines" it will be too soon.

I think I would slap her if she said that to me, and I am the most non violent person. it is the most inappropriate comment ever!
