Fell asleep and missed the end Oh well will catch up. By all accounts it's been very well received by the press which is great and I loved what I saw but the parade just takes soooo long Looking forward to the games getting underway today

It all went on a bit long to be honest, but it had it's nice moments. I was pretty much zoned out for most of it and was on the phone, here, facebook and listening to music for much of it.

To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.

It was a lovely opening ceremony.

I just wish we could actually watch some of the competitions. NBCOlympics, hellooooo?

Fortunately, it looks like ParalympicSportsTV's YouTube channel is posting things rather quickly.

I just hope the British public remember this next time the license fee's increased or the BBC's threatened with cuts. This is what it's like *all* the time here, even CBC in Canada with government funding.

beautiful opening ceremony. The crowd was AWESOME! One of the TSN commentators had goosebumps and got emotional listening to the reception Team GB received--what a special moment. And every team seemed to get a nice ovation. great way to start the games

For those in Canada who have access to CITY-TV, they are scheduled to show a 3-hr version of the opening ceremony this evening (Aug. 31) beginning at 8 p.m. local time. Sorry for the lateness of this post but I just spotted it.
Can't skate but love to watch
