Best Bronze Medal Olympic performance by a Lady

We might as well pick the best bronze medal performance by a lady in the Olympics.

I chose not to list anyone before 1988, but it does not mean you cannot vote for someone before 1988 (the 'Other' option)

In 1984 Kira Ivanova because of school figures, and I have never seen Dagmar (I forget her last name) who won the 1980 bronze. In any case, the more recent ones seem to get more votes, so 1988 is as far back as I want to go on this list.

It's between Joannie Rochette and Lu Chen 1994 for me.
I voted for Lu Chen as I think she deserved to be higher than 3rd (ahead of Baiul, IMO)...

Lu Chen in 1998 for me. I really enjoyed that one, artistically, and none of the others really stand out technically to me.

Chen Lu-1998. Beautiful performance, especially since she didn't even make the free skate in the 1997 World Championships.

I'd say it was most similar to Nancy's 92 win. The cof-avorites were battling it out for gold and took the top two spots. 3rd was up for grabs between about a half dozen ladies. Lurz's lp was well choroegraphed by rob Paul, but the delivery kinda fell a bit flat.

P.s. her lp costume actually looked very much like nancy's 94 lp costume.

Slightly OT, but has anyone ever noticed how Nancy's 92 LP costume was copied many times?

For example, Amber Corwin in 99 LP:

Really looks like it was died blue for the program; was it?

Michelle Kwan is not winning?! LOL. She was still Kwan-esque in many respects and in many details.

Chen in 1994 for me. Many felt it was the best long program of the night, or atleast superior to Oksana's. By 1998 she was mediocre in technical abilities for a top skater even when she skated cleanly. Rochette in 2010 had too many mistakes, although under COP she would still easily beat all others on that list, and under 6.0 would beat Chen of 98 and possibly Chen of 94. The others dont even factor in, although Kwan of 2002 was atleast better than the remaining 3 which were plainly mediocre at best.

Sucks that Lulu has to split her votes, buy even so I think her 98 Olympic LP is one of the most graceful, beautiful, and genuinely emotional performances ever.

It's Lu Chen in 1994 vs Lu Chen in 1998. 1994 was technically superiors but 1998 was so full of emotions.

Why isn't Janet Lynn included in this poll? I voted "other" because Janet's first place free skate in 1972, which received a 6.0 from one judge, is one of my favorite free skates of all time.

Sorry, I did not go that far. I should have included Janet; I did not think of her Olympic bronze because it was so long ago. I stopped at 1980 while trying to remember (and did not even inclde 1980 & 1984).

I voted Kwan too, not not because of the program. Chen in 98 was more magical, and in 94 was perhaps better tech content, but I went with Kwan because she's the only bronze I can think of that I consider wuz robbed of gold.
