Is it just me or is anyone else experiencing a lot of slowness on the board today. The intial load of the page happens as normal but then trying to navigate into different sections (Like GSD, Trashcan etc) takes literally minutes to load up.

It's been like that for me for the last week. If a thread doesn't load right away it just times out so I just leave the board and try again later.

I had the same experience, yesterday, and twice last week. I figured it was because of traffic due to the Olympics. Well, that is for last week. I also left and tried again later.
