RIP, Neil. Your footprints in the lunar soil, like the memories of your moon landing, will last forever.

Anyone who blasts into space and then follows that up with a walk on the moon is gutsy to me. And I always loved his name. RIP.

I'd heard earlier this Summer his health wasn't very good, but was hoping he'd make a turn around. I'll have to pop in my From The Earth To The Moon tapes into the VCR later tonight and watch the episode of the Moon landing in his memory and honour.

    Godspeed Sir and Thank You!!

One of my few true heroes in life - both on the moon and afterward on earth. I will miss him. I echo the sentiment. Thank you, Neil Armstrong.

Ironically my dad was watching a bunch of moon-landing stuff yesterday and we had a big discussion about going to the moon and when/if we'd ever go back.

Regardless how many times we go back, only one man was first.

    RIP Neil.

I also remember watching on TV. My mom took her polaroid camera and snapped pictures of the moon landing and Neil taking his first steps on the moon. I still have those pictures and a National Geograpic magazine that contained a clear pink, plastic record of the landing on the moon.

    RIP, Neil.

My husband and Neil Armstrong came from the same small town in Ohio.

    RIP Mr. Armstrong.

I found out while watching him on CSPAN (it was a rerun of a 2010 panel).

    RIP Neil Armstrong.

    Sad news indeed

I stilll have my old newspaper cuttings of the moon landing from when I was very young, stuck in a scrapbook with now brittle and yellow sellotape. One of my very earliest memories of anything outside family life.

RIP Neil Armstrong, thinking also today of Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. Three men of great courage.

A hero to the whole world. RIP

Before he died, he called for further manned missions to the moon which would establish the first permanent base on the moon. I hope that once the first base is ultimately built, they name it after him in his memory.

The passing of a legend. I still clearly remember the excitement of watching those first steps on TV back when I was 8 years old. RIP
