Regardless of how skaters choose to perform to it, to me jazz music has certain elements that separate it from pop or any other genre - elements such as syncopation, swing (whether hard or soft), improvisation, etc. The music of that Dom/Shabs program didn't (to my ear) have any of the above. To me it sounded more like popular musical theater or a film score.

This music is considered jazz? Seriously? I listen to a lot of jazz, all periods and genres, and this doesn't sound even remotely like any kind of jazz I've ever heard.
