LOVE Richard's SP. Fits him to perfection. I hope to see it skated to its potential this year. (...continue gushing inwardly... combo of music and choreo is so good)

Lurrved Sean R's performance. What fun! where did I get the idea that he wasn't competing anymore?

Part of me wishes that two skaters I truly admire (and two of the most artistic skaters, period- Abbott and Cassar) have not chosen the same music... and part of me is looking forward to comparing their expressive choices.
    Goodnight!

I was at the competition last night and took a few videos of the senior men. It was a bad competition for jumps for Doug Razzano and Ricky Dornbush. Neither of them had a good warm-up (no clean quads or triple axels, IIRC), and unfortunately that carried over to the competition.

    Razzano:

Not making it to Nationals due to a deep and competitive field at Sectionals often can motivate a skater to work even harder, improve many aspects of their skating, and "prove" themselves the next season. Shotaro Omori (5th in Junior Men at Pacific Coasts last year) is another good example.

ETA: Micah Tang (Coyotes SC of Arizona) won the Intermediate Men's event with an unofficial total score of 78.52.
Juvenile Boys FS is starting... Karen Chen's little brother is leading at the moment. Final unofficial top 4: Camden Pulkinen, Jeffrey Chen, Aaron Hai, Max Lake.

Othniel Chan won Novice Men's event.

I highly recommend people watch Novice Ladies FS coming up after the ice make -- LOTS of young talent in this field! ETA: The top 6 in the SP will skate in the 2nd group.

Loved Amy Lin. Her presentation is strong and polished. She fell several times but the jumps she did land had great ride out. She looked elegant .

Was that Sarah Feng? Why did they send that sweet little thing out to skate to "Big Spender" and a bunch of other brassy musical jazz? The music cut was a chaotic mashup. How unfortunate.

Oh. My bad. sorry. I'm watching and doing something else on the computer at the same time and I had the impression that she was down and up more than once. Really loved her skating.

This Elizabeth girl has so much talent..but quite obvious her balance was a tad off.. she looks like she might be going through a growth spurt/puberty beautiful skater though...
