I agree. I just copied this to post with the remark of "seriously?" I don't blame him for not wanting to run for them again.
Kim Collins, St Kitts and Nevis, 100m: the 36 year-old was withdrawn from the event by his country’s officials after spending a night in a hotel with his wife as opposed to staying in the Olympic Village. The St Kitts and Nevis flag bearer later announced that he would never run for his country again.
Those were all the individual Olympic committees though that sent them home not the IOC like in the case of doping violations. As long as the guidelines were laid out in advance I don't see a problem with it. Though not being able to spend a night with your wife does seem completely ridiculous.
