Awesome finish to the games - 29 golds and 64 medals in total - well done Team GB. Spotted at USA vs Spain Basketball final, Formal Governor Arnie sat next to Mayor Boris. They make an interesting couple. One of the formal most fittest man in the world, next to one who recently lost a ton of weight. Clearly one of them wont last the opening credit to the movie the Expendables.

Russia ranking 3rd now on overall medals ( might have surpass China on medal tally if it wasnt for the horrible first week ) and just 5 gold medals away from Great Britain.

Im betting Putin had a little briefing of all the athletes after the first week
of only 5 gold medals.

Team GB tops the boxing medal table with its 3 Golds. We also finished top in the cycling, in water sports, and in the equestrian events.

Was hoping we would end the games with 30 Golds, but got pretty close with 29 (10 more than in Beijing). We finish 3rd in the overall medal table for the first time since 1920.

NBC is going to live stream the closing ceremonies--word is they are just "experimenting" with this, and this does not mean that they will live stream opening and closing in Sochi. HAH! The criticism has been heard!

Of course, waiting until this evening to watch it does mean that my personal Olympic experience will be extended by a few more hours. Don't want the games to end! Fab, fab job by GB!!
