Sylvia has posted an updated list of Grand Prix entries that indicates that Lysacek will compete at Skate America. http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/show...&postcount=577
I can't get the entry list on the ISU website to load in my browser.
Uhhh... uh oh... hmmm...
The Skate America site still has Evan listed under competitors. I didn't see "stand by" anywhere. ????
Evan Lysacek has withdrawn from Skate America "due to a groin injury"; Armin Mahbanoozadeh has replaced him - press release:
"Lysacek expects to compete at the 2013 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships, Jan. 20-27, in Omaha, Neb."
Thanks for the news Sylvia. I am glad for Armin getting the spot.
^ I also don't expect to see him compete again
Shades of Skate America 02, call Kwan.
I heard recently that Lysacek was skating pretty clean run-throughs and was looking good, so I wouldn't count him out just yet.
ETA this article link in which Phil Hersh reports
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports...,7288085.story (original article has since been updated with quotes from Lysacek)... it is possible Lysacek may now compete in a minor (non-Grand Prix) international event this fall.
Among those under consideration are the NRW Trophy in Dortmund, Germany, Dec. 5-9 and the Golden Spin of Zagreb in Zagreb, Croatia Dec. 13-16.

A complete recovery to Evan.
I hope we will see him compete at Nationals - or before.
Well I hope he recovers and does compete in one of those B competitions. I would like to see how he stacks up with the current crop of American men at Nationals.
I would think there's financial incentive to come back- endorsements and all - he's worth more competing.
