Europeans next year will be in Russia, so I could see the reason why many of the russian gymnasts are staying one more season at least, I have to watch again Afanaseva´s floor and hopefully take a european title, world medal with that fab routine

Mustafina has been giving LOTS of interviews since London. She's mentioned in pretty much every one of them that she wants to go all the way to Rio.

She's also said that Afanasyeva has no definite time she plans to stop, but - and I paraphrase - "If it works out, it works out; if not, it's OK, I have an Olympic medal now."

Something like that. I'll try and find a few of them

    US Gymnastics Returns to Hartford

The US Gymnastics Championships are returning to Hartford on August 10th - 14th in 2013. I am really tempted to buy tickets after my first foray in 2010. The only member of the fierce five that I saw performn was Aly Raisman, who I adore. And of course, Danel LLeyva!

Over the next year and a half USFSA Nationals will be less than 2 hours away by car and US Gymnastics Nationals only 20 minutes away! How lucky can one get?

I wish the US would get another World Championships. Last one was in 2003 Anaheim. We're due, I believe.

I wonder if the US has bid for one? Previous worlds in the US were 12 years apart (1979, 1991, 2003) which would bring you to 2015 which has already been awarded to Glasgow.

The US bid to have 2015 in Orlando, but lost out to Glasgow as we know.

If so, I... feel sorry for him.

If you are on a diet but just can't resist your cravings... Look at Geddart's tattoo, it prevented me from eating a bigger lunch yesterday.

Why does she always look like she's recently been crying?

Because she probably has. From what I've read, she cries a lot in the gym.

She also has heavy lidded eyes, so that doesn't help.

Most interesting using the reference judging, Komova would have won the AA. Oh well though it was barely.
