Last night, Bob Costas noted that a disproportionate number of the American gold medals had been won by women, and that was before the soccer and water polo gold medals.

Nice to see the Japanese women make their best efforts to keep smiling even in defeat.

Well Damian Warner, you had quite the coming out party in Decathalon. Thanks for giving Canada another surprise in Athletics. No medal, but Top 5 when he's still a baby in this thing? Pretty amazing and Congratulations!!

Just saw the Ladies Soccer Team get their Bronze Medals. I was fine during the medals and flowers being given out. Happy and so proud for them and a huge on my face and then they showed the flags going up and...All I could hear was the various players who have been interviewed saying, "We want to see the Flag go up!!" and that did it!! That turned me into a soggy mess.

They're all coming to the Broadcast Centre tonight to talk w/Brian Williams, so keep your eyes open during Primetime tonight fellow Canadians!!

Another pretty good day for Canada, hey?!
Women bring in another silver and bronze and a young man from "the fake London" makes top 5 in Decathlon. Great stuff.
Women's diving on the 10m platform -- too little too late and we finish poorly as well as far from the podium. Oh well ...
Do we Canadians have anything in which to hope for a medal over the next day or so?
    Crazy about sports!

Absolutely, Karine Sergerie tomorrow is the reigning Olympic Silver Medalist in Taekwondo and then our best hope for gold... Catherine Pendrel in Women's mountain bike, She's the favorite to win, 4th in Beijing, reigning World Champion, Overall World Cup Champion, Won the test event here, so she's ready and primed to go...

Major Congratulations to Afghanistan for winning just their second ever Olympic Medal from Rohullah Nikpah in Taekwondo, defending his bronze medal from four years ago. Huge congrats to him.

For me this Olympics is all about GIRL POWER---from every country. Sorry guys but you have so much air time during the year for so many different sports. I'm glad to see the women from all countries participating have their day in the sun at these Olympic games.

Total medal count is now 52 - Wouldn't it be cool for the team to hit 60 - Fitting for a Diamond Jubilee year

There are a few boxing ones guaranteed due to no bronze medal fight - 3 (or 4 - I can't remember) and one sailing medal guaranteed as well (if they can get the wind to sail the medal race ) So 60 is definitely doable and that would be awesome in HM's diamond year!!
