The Russian had nothing to lose so went for it in the first couple of rounds but Taylor was just too good and has won a deserved 1st gold for Ireland!!! Congrats to Katie

I am so impressed with the leadership and the tenacity of those girls to come back and win that medal. France outplayed them the entire time but close only counts in horseshoes. France probably should have won that game but for these girls to come back and win a medal after having the win taken from them is beyond anything I could have imagined.
Lets face it, after the World Cup in 2011, the women's program was in shambles. They had three humiliating losses, disappointed everyone and had a coach who thought of herself more than the team. Now with John Herdman, he's displayed the necessary leadership to help these girls, they've shown how strong they are, and for them to win a medal... it's amazing.
Hats off Team Canada! You've earned this one!

Congratulations as well to Ireland and Hungary!!! When it comes to the Swimmer from Hungary, I think it's far more fitting it was only her Family and Friends there to cheer her on. Considering how the Media has treated her and in turn brainwashed the majority of the fans from the sound of it, I'd think she's far happier w/her very small cheering section who's been there through thick and thin w/her, than a huge horde of Hungarian fans IMO.
