Rhythmic Gymnastics!!!

I liked ball routine of Belarus girl. She has nice lines and did some difficult looking moves.

And she receives pretty decent marks, I guess.

I basically know nothing about rhythmic gymnastics, but I enjoy it during the Olympics - even though the music choices are hurting my ears, and most of the competitors would deserve IN scores in the 3-4 range (at best) if this were skating. But it is all very pretty.

Why is it that there are no separate apparatus finals at the Olympics for rhythmic?

Since when do the girls swing their shoulders like that when walking?! Yuck.

I did rhythmic gymnastics until I was 16, kept following on TV for a while after that until Kabaeva turned me off the sport. I thought I'd give it a try today, but those routines all look the same to me and those girls have no personality... I'm really not impressed.

Hopefully the teams will be more interesting?

More reasons to miss Bessonova, Rizenson and Godunko

I think Miteva, and Maximenko to some extend, are the only ones with some presonality.

And, as I type this, austrian girl performs to Deep purple

Voidy Austrian girl deserves to get a huge artistic marks just for performing to Deep Purple song.

BTW, I had no idea they did butterfly moves in rhythmic gymnastics.

Korean girl has pretty feet, and did some cool moves, but she had very little ice coverage. She should really move around more.

Ice or floor, I would think that it would be a lot easier to do tricks while staying in same place.

The Korean girl is a bit of a celebrity at home apparently ... Lots of sensational stories about her moving to Russia to fulfill her dream etc.,

I miss bessonova so much ... But the new cheeky Ukrainian girl is not bad at all

Dmitrieva's hoop routine is superb.

BTW, is the Biellmann position valued high in gymnasitcs like it is in skating?
I see many of the better girls are getting into it.

i like the movement in rhythmic so much better than the floor ex in artistic. if someone blended the two, i'd wet myself
