I'm behind and catching up with the NBC coverage, but I agree with the posts upthread, that who would have thought I'd ever be thankful to the Karolyis for anything, but they were certainly on the ball with Aly's beam, moreso than Mihai who seemed a bit unprepared with the enquiry. It was also interesting to see Aly's reaction when they raised her D-score and "it might be a tie" - after the way the last tiebreak worked out for her, she wasn't counting on anything this time!

ETA - I can't even imagine how melodramatic the Boston NBC affiliate's news is going to be given their local girl's success today. It's already been insane so far, it will be interesting to see how they top it tonight.

I liked the coverage tonight because there were so many women's events and I have found ---at least for this Olympics--that I am more interested in how the women are faring. So between gymnastics, track and beach volleyball I was a happy camper. I am paying attention to the men but for now it is "girl power" for me. They appear to be showing the guys after the package they put together for the girls.

Of course I wasn't. When would he even have the opportunity to do that and why would I even be friends with someone like that. All I meant was that I think it is cute that he thinks she's awesome.
