I can't help but feel that bek is in her room cheering that Aly finished in 4th .

That's exactly what I was coming to post. Man, Aly must have the black mark of Tarasova because she is the queen of 4th place finishes.

Ponor was crap, Raisman aside from one wobble was pretty solid, granted she's not the most graceful but still, she should have been third. I'd be protesting if I was the USA team. That's crap.

She is capable of even more, I agree. But just because she's not perfect the way we want her to be or know she can be does not mean that she's not fighting.

And about Mustafina having a fighting spirit: yes she has. But she didn't on beam in the AA and her floor was full of wobbles.

Well, that beam final was underwhelming. I hope Gabby and Vika can enjoy their awesome medals. They should be proud.

On to high bar and floor....well, I guess after the appeal.

Just watched the beam final- poor Aly I thought she deserved bronze. Overall a totally disappointing final--it started off so well too. I dont think Sui Lu's crying tears of joy either.

They were not kind in their words regarding her attitude. Color me shocked, they're usually so nice

Christine is so right with the psychology of fighting for your place - American gymnasts, and being anointed the star - Komova.

Russians might be best to leave Komova off the team for a year or somethng and make her actually sort her shit out. That was lazy and insulting to Mustafina who could have been in the beam final instead.

I feel happy for Aly but cannot help but feel for Catalina as well. it must suck to have a medal and then it's gone again.
Maybe she should go out and take a few drinks with the Ukrainian men team.

Actually no I don't care much either way, and I only saw Komova/Douglas routine.. I haven't seen Ponor and Raisman's routine this time. In general though I find Ponor more appealing on beam artistically than Raisman... But if its unfair its unfair.. I just didn't want Raisman winning the AA Besides now that she has a bronze on beam, I can root for others on floor.

Aly wins the tie breaker this time!

But will the emotional stress affect her on floor?
    Creating drama!

I'm not too worried about Komova. I think she just needs some time to grow up a bit and hopefully in 4 years shell be a much stronger gymnast mentally.

    Yay, Aly!!!

I feel bad for Ponor, but the better gymnast medaled.

Sheesh, what is it with these judges? First the men's team final, now this? And I thought figure skating judges were bad.

Having Raisman lose bronze on another tie would have been even worse . Cata could do that routing 10X better and she knows it
