Yeah, I watched the boxing yesterday. You'd have thought that by now, they'd have figured out some semi-impartial system for the olympics at least. Because based on last night's competition what's happening on the ring is almost guaranteed to be the opposite of what the score reflects... I'm wondering why they're even bothering to fight.

for Alexandre for all that he has done for this sport. I have followed his career since his first Commonwealth Games in 1998, and am just so impressed by the courage and determination he showed in competing here after that horrific accident in June. Incredible. And yes, the crowd was lovely.
He has no previous multi-games experience or World Championship experience, to come through with an Olympic medal on your first go around is insane. But good for him! I'm really glad he was able to get on the podium.
