And last day of artistic gymnastics. Go Ponor. Also last day of track cycling and I can't say I am that impressed with the events on track anymore. Sprints are really boring and I really miss Individual Pursuit and Points Race being medal events And grrr I am unable to watch dressage cause there are too many events on at the same time.

According to the BBC live text page Jonny Brownlee has incurred a 15 second penalty for mounting his bike too early - that could cost him a medal

There's still a big group of them all together in the triathlon. Guess it's all going to come down to the run.

We have a few chances today to go beyond that total as well - amazing!! Team GB had a target of 48 medals in total which is well on target as well

Hilariously badly written USA Today article about Katie Taylor (Irish boxer)

Back home on the emerald-green isle, pints of Guinness flowed freely, perhaps enough to replenish the Irish Sea. The "punters'' inside betting parlors wagered pounds as if they were bits of candy.
Never have so many stereotypes been written in so few sentences.

ETA: Just twigged that the writer thinks we use pounds as our currency.

There should be a gold medal awarded just for that! (or a lump of coal--your pick)

How does one mount your bike too early? I'm not really familiar with some of the rules in the triathlon so would appreciate understanding what Jonny did incorrectly.

When the triathletes come in to pick up their bikes, they aren't supposed to get on them until they are outside a specific zone.
