To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.
And last day of artistic gymnastics. Go Ponor. Also last day of track cycling and I can't say I am that impressed with the events on track anymore. Sprints are really boring and I really miss Individual Pursuit and Points Race being medal eventsAnd grrr I am unable to watch dressage cause there are too many events on at the same time.
Men's triathlon under way!

Men's triathlon gets going - with the GB brothers - Jonny and Alistair Brownlee - looking for podium positions!!
OMFG. Whitfield is down after a great swim.
Officially out of the race.
I am gutted.:

According to the BBC live text page Jonny Brownlee has incurred a 15 second penalty for mounting his bike too early - that could cost him a medal![]()
There's still a big group of them all together in the triathlon. Guess it's all going to come down to the run.![]()

Just 10000m left to run - easy peasy![]()
Final Lap! Come on Alistair and your very impressive package!
Dont Hate! Gyrate!
Come on the Brownlee's - Alistair for gold and hopefully Jonny can hold on to bronze after serving his 15 second penalty - come on boys!!!
Yeah - Jonny gets bronze and Alistair gets gold - great for the boys and Team GBLove how he walked over the line

Hilariously badly written USA Today article about Katie Taylor (Irish boxer)
Never have so many stereotypes been written in so few sentences.Back home on the emerald-green isle, pints of Guinness flowed freely, perhaps enough to replenish the Irish Sea. The "punters'' inside betting parlors wagered pounds as if they were bits of candy.
ETA: Just twigged that the writer thinks we use pounds as our currency.![]()

There should be a gold medal awarded just for that! (or a lump of coal--your pick)
