Rings makes my arms hurt. I'm almost too tired now to lift this fork with cake on it to my mouth. Almost.

    ETA: Chen is so cute.

PML at Tim handing over the rings title to Yebin on a platinum platter before Zanetti was off the podium.

I guess that's why the showed Jordan earlier; so they can prepare us for Bad Decisions in Rings.

Sam didn't get the memo about Ugly Americans.

    That was an awesome vault!

I like how enthusiastic Mikulak is about everyone else's vaults. He's now won me over as a fan

As a Ukrainian American I am offended by NBC

I think it's because I swam for 5 years, and I enjoyed that so much more than running around a track. (although I had to do that every year in gym class)

Dare I say it but ... has the NBC prime-time coverage improved drastically since Track and Field started? They are actually showing the heats, and comparing the times of the racers. They are doing fluff pieces about athletes from other countries. They are (gasp!) even showing medal ceremonies from other countries. The commentators seem informed, like they know the sport. They are comparing the results of this race with past Olympics. Seems like less time is wasted.

Like ... why couldn't it have been like this the first week?

Well I actually learned something from NBC tonight: I want to go hang out in Grenada. The people look like a lot of fun, their Olympian is a most excellent young man and I had no idea they have a holiday that commemerates the day when our Marines invaded the island. Now how often does that happen?
And they named it "Thanksgiving." Wow. Congrats to them on their first gold.

I read a comment by obviously male who said Mustafina won "gold" in the looks department. She is a gorgeous girl.

Elfi and Tim really aren't that bad, it's Al that's so awful. There has to be a better way to do the asking dumb questions for the audience job.

Congrats again to the deserving UB champ!!!
Agreed. A friend was horrified about how she smiled and hugged her coach when Gabby ****ed up. I think NBC has it's mind set on the "EVILLE BITCHY RUSSIANS!" storyline and refuse to deviate from that.
