"We will get back to gymnastics in a minute. But now, Ryan Seacrest is here to tell us what's up in social media." I hate you, NBC.

I'm enjoying the tone/scope of athletics much more than swimming. The commentators are really giving a good picture of the scope of the event and a sense of the competitors. For the first time ever, I bet I can correctly identify more runners than swimmers. They seem excited for all the competitors and events.

I didn't want to watch because of vault, but I'm glad I did. Maroney kept it together and did not cry, and Izbasa hugging her out of both excitement and commiseration. Really, really impresses with Izbasa.

The royals get paid to travel, go to the OOOOOs, be on TV AND live in huge houses. They have an even better job fhan Carillo.

Missy Franklin just repeated the skaters' mantra: Have fun, do my best.

I love Missy Franklin. Even in spite of her admiration of Justin Bieber

I know! She's so easy to root for because on top of being an amazing swimmer, she's such a typical teenager. Her parents are also the cutest things ever. Yay Missy!!

I did speak too soon, but still, they chacked Belyavskiy on PH and Nguyen on floor, and for that, I can only upgrade their coal medal to a lead medal.

i'd rather remember the marcel from AA... the one on FX this morning... didn't Loves_Shizuka say marcel looked like he still has AA hangover?

i'm surprised NBC showed as much as they did, tbh

On a purely selfish note, she probably wouldn't do that because she likes being part of a team and doing relays and stuff, and with Canada she wouldn't have as good of a shot of winning in those events.

It's INSANE how incredibly poised, mature and confident Missy is. May we all find more seventeen year olds like her...

Nothing better than having very low expectations with them, I guess.

I have to say, the NBC coverage improves tremendously when:
    1. They don't show gymnastics
    2. They show athletics

Showing the men EF medalists should never be a surprise. At least they did that much, hopefully it'll even extend to rings.

Yes but I would like to see that picture of the gymnasts honoring Bolt with his pose. They flashed on and off so fast that I didn't get a good look.

more Mary Carillo! no more Ryan Seacrest!
Q: Why can't I read the competition threads?
A: Competition forums on the board are available to those with a Season Pass or a premium membership How to View Kiss & Cry

Cameron van der Burgh admits to cheating. His reason seems to be: "everyone else does"

    http://www.nbcolympics.com/news-blog...in-london.html

Did anyone watch close enough to see if everyone else really does cheat?
