Which men perform the same vaults as Chusovitina?
I am in the K&C at the 1980 Olympics telling Frank Carroll he will have a male skater from KAZ with a 4T, 3A-3T and a World Silver going into the 2014 Olympics ...

    Berger 6.3 6 12.3
    Paseka 6.5 5.6 12.1

Pena's 2nd vault is a DTY which is valued out of a 5.8, not a 5.6. That would give her a 12.9 SV.

Geez - 6 pages! Where the hell have I been? Since today is the first day I'll just post my hopes for those:

Gold for Maroney - she still has to land them before we make it official, and a ten.
Shatilov, Uchimura, Dalton FX podium in any order, and a gold for Louis Smith.
A medal for Chusovitina, or a surprise medal for Ellie Black.

The others are back and forth with me ATM and I'd rather get through a day at a time but I can't get Komova's in the clutch Fx from all-around out of my mind and really want her to win balance beam. I also predict one more medal from Gabby.

Men's floor. I would love Ablyazin or Koczi to win.

Vault: Maroney, Izbasa and anyone. Not really fussed about bronze. I don't think much of Paseka's amanar but if she won bronze good for her. Chuso is great but I don't like how her vaults look now. But I wouldn't be disappointed if she won bronze either. I love that the Canadians and Germans selected vaulters. I honestly wish next quad that more gymnasts do two vaults. I would actually force them to do so personally.

Pommel Horse: Berki, Tommasone Hidvegi would be awesome

Any info about beam and the Romanian decision? I still cannot imagine that they wouldn't sub in Iordache even with her dismal performance in the AA. She still has a better shot than Bulimar. (however much that would suck for Bulimar )

Nothing so far. But there was an interview with Mariana Bitang this morning and she said that Larisa competed in pain in the AA and her heel is still swollen and hurts badly. They allowed her to compete, even at 50%, only because she wanted so much to be there. I think they're going to leave Diana Bulimar in the beam finals. She'll do her best, I'm sure, even if a medal is out of reach.

It probably feels like a shattered dream right now. The bright side is that she's only 16 and, according to Mrs Bitang, determined to continue until Rio.
