Why are 800m and 1500m held so close together? I really don't get it.

Ukhov 2.38! But 2.29 for bronze is seriously ridiculous.

Btw, Alekna's tiffed in his mugshot.
Go Kanter. Not too thrilled with Harting, but better than Ahmadinejad's darling.

There's a link further back in this thread posted by Domshabsfan.

yes, the reason he gave was that he was deeply disappointed not to make the Russian team for 2008 Olympics, so this is extra sweet.

if he was an american this will be a Hollywood movie, making him larger than life character. Since he is a russian may be a Hallmark movie?

Indeed Ukhov is the one! all over YouTube! I'm still over the fact that 2.29 won bronze here but it looks like this stadium really does suck for field competitions! Oh well, Canada benefits so I'm not going to complain! Congrats to all the medalists!

Aww phooey, was hoping Canada could have gotten a medal but considering Zelinka wasn't even thinking about hurdles at the start of the year, the fact that her and George made the final is a great accomplishment and Canada has a medal in track, so that's a big relief for the folks at AC.

ETA - Congrats to Pearson! She really deserved it. She's so tremendous!

Mark Boswell from Canada jumped 2.35 and 2.32 to win his world silver and bronze medals (1999, 2003), so yes, you are correct.
