The wind seems to be highly erratic in the stadium. -1.5m/s to +1.5m/s between first and third heat. Also huge differences in the LJ yesterday. Good that the organizers could save some bucks by cutting on the stadium design, I guess.

    ATHLETICS
Kim Collins, who missed the 100m heats, indicated on Twitter he had been disciplined after visiting his wife: "Even men in prison get their wives to visit." A St Kitts and Nevis team spokesman said he broke team rules by leaving the athletes' village.
Good grief man - the Olympics come round once every 4 years - surely you could have held off on a booty call for a few more days

For all the reasons to get kicked out of the Olympics and he says it was that???? Oh my gosh. That is ridiculous. Rules are rules, and that's the reason you break them? a few more days and he could have it whenever he wanted...

Since when are there rules about having to stay in the village? Not all the athletes do. These are adults, not children at sleepaway camp.

It is down to each country - they determine where they want their athletes to stay and St Kitts and Nevis wanted their athletes to stay in the village. He knew the rule and he broke it.

How amazing was Jess. Feel sad for Dobrynska and a little sad for Zelinka with that Shitty high jump/Long jump but, Jess....MIIIILES ahead. she can actually fall, walk and roll.

Have a sickening feeling that Justin Gatlin will medal in the men's 100m

the winds for the the last 3 heats were 0.0, +1.5, +2.0....if this is repeated in the semi finals where the first two of each heat qualify and the two fastest losers, it will be a completely UNFAIR advantage. I absolutely LOATH 3 heat semi final, the very name is a dichotomy. :grr:

    1 second is 10 points.

Girls need to beat her by 20 seconds, the only problem is, Jess is the fastest in the field and 10 seconds faster than most of the girls chasing medals, aside from Chernova.

If she runs 2.05 she can break 7k!!

Eh, he is late 30's, this is his 5th Olympics, I think he's probably over the excitement and booty calls that happen in the VILLAGE.

For his fed to DQ him for this is a fcking DISGRACE. The man IS Saint Kitts and Nevis having won the world title in 2003, world bronze in 2001, 2 world bronze medals last year, a 5 time Olympian and the nicest, warmest man in track and field. An amazing ambassador for the sport.

I'm not saying he should have had a booty call in the village but he knew the rules. He could have spoken to his fed and probably gotten to stay out of the village or at least get trips out when he wanted - many other athletes do. Yes he is ambassador and it is sad that he was withdrawn by his fed but maybe there is more to this than the explanation given.
