Is anyone in judo NOT scary. Seems like that would be more "news" worthy.

The Brit chick who won silver yesterday looked really pretty on the highlights show.

Hmmm... Dressage - Is it just me or is it a bit cruel to get horses to prance around like that?

My sister-in-law does dressage. She says that it's physically very challenging for the horse since the rider is asking them to go into positions that aren't natural for them. Her horse breathes harder after a round of dressage than after a long walk.

Yeah, the horses always seem to be sweating hard after only a few minutes. And then they keep going.

I wonder if it is like elephants that show signs of fear and anxiety when asked to stand with more than one leg off the ground, or if the horses are like the other Olympians- doing more than most think is "humanely" possible, but thriving on it.

I hope the horses don't hate it.

My sis-in-law's horse seems to like it. Sometimes we'll see her running around the field, stopping, collecting herself and doing some dressage steps! It's funny to watch.

Ahh, at least the horse wants to practice on her own!

And yeah, in that kieran that old guy on the durny?? looks so calm and sedate and then these athletes are lined up breathing down his neck I've never seen this before so it's amusing to me.

Am following thread. Boss in meetings, it's Friday, and no one calling. Can I make a request for tramp reports? Take tramp to mean whatever you want.
"The practice of sport is a human right. Every individual must have the possibility of practicing sport, without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play." –Olympic Charter
