Vika's floor was the best gymnastics routine in the AA for me. Even better than Musty's bars.

Komova is beautifully flexible, very elegant in her moves, but the music is horrendous, 12 points off for that.

The routine was lovely but connected in no way with the music.

    Poor Vika.

All I want is for her to win beam or bars. I won't even complain about Afan not getting her due on floor if that happens.

And Aly and Chow. I'd love for Aly to go into coaching. I think she'd be fab. She could team up with Komova and Komova could teach form and Aly could teach mental toughness and not giving up.

Komova was FABULOUS! Her gymnastics really are beautiful to watch. But her tendency to give up has always made it hard for me to warm up to her.

Stupid IOC. Both Aly and Aliya should've gotten medals.

ETA It's mean, but I liked the side-eye Mustafina gave Komova.

I'm thrilled for Gabby and sad for Komova but at least today she can know that she really did do everything she had.

And several hours later I still think that breaking the tie at all is a travesty. Because she deserved for there to be two bronzes. None of the possible tie break options actually make that much sense. They are all just dumb ways to create differences that don't exist. If the tie break were the score in prelims, that would almost make sense. Not because it would have given the bronze to Aly but because it would make the medal based on two days of AA instead of making it based on 3 events.

Aly is a great team mate and a seriously classy lady. It will serve her well in the future. If I were her, things would not have gone that way. She's the one who deserves a melt down but she hugged Gabby instead. You go girl.

Only thing I noticed was alys last split after she rebounded out of that double pike was nowhere near as good as her TF one.

I'm so happy for Chow after being so close with Shawn last time. And I agree with all the posters who are amazed at the change in Gabby from 2011 Visas less than a year ago. Unbelievable turnaround. She just hit 12 for 12 routines, which is truly remarkable.

Yes, I actually think that was the difference. I noticed that this morning before the marks came up and I was wondering if it was going to hurt her, but then the scores came up and I was too busy being gutted for her to post it.

This gives Komova (and Musty) incentive to dominate next quad.

If they can stay injury free and not lose training time, they'll be favorites for AA.

Komova should work hard to get her twisting form back to how it was in 2010. That way she'd be even further ahead.

ITA! She is truly a class act and has been a great representative for U.S. gymnastics.

I really don't like how the tie breaker means they considered fewer events. This is AA. All 4 events should be considered. If they must have tie breakers, couldn't they have found a way that didn't totally toss out one score?

Better yet would be no tie breakers of course. And I'd say that whether or not it affected a US athlete.

But major to Gabby for having an amazing Olympics and an amazing performance in AA!

My 2 favorite moments of the broadcast:

    1. The 2 second Terry Gannon fluff
    2. The Hoogie mention

    Yeah, I'm pathetic.

It really sucks for aly to lose the tiebreaker but
honestly I'd give it to Aliya too just based on her bars alone. That was a stunning routine.
