I feel so sorry for the young Russians. That child will relive that routine for the rest of her life. It's easy to forget they are just kids. Fortunatly for her, her teammate screwed up on the FX as well so it's not all her fault.

You have to wonder if that thought was going through their head. I know I would've been considering it if I was that upset. Poor girls!

NBC seems determined to never let us see Afan's floor.

(but one can see it elsewhere )

I am LOL at the Russian gymnasts using hideous elevator music for their floor routines just like the figure skaters!

This is why I am so grateful that I watched this earlier on the NBC website. I now have my TV on mute so I can miss these "gems".

Obviously, Al has not seen Maroney's death stare. Of course they will go for it. Duh!

At least Russia had enough mistakes on beam and floor to ensure that she won't take the full blame. The team, as a whole, just collapsed.
    Creating drama!

I thought the American girls sort of looked upset by the Russian's socres. It could just be nerves, but it really did look like Jordyn was visibly upset for them.

I can't believe they chacked Afan. Her mistake was what sealed the deal for Russia.

Afan had a good routine going until she majorly under-rotated her last pass and had a scary looking fall. IIRC, it looked like she was going to face-plant but I think caught herself on hands and knees then rolled over onto her back. It was awful.

Afan was good till the end when she fell forward on her last pass and landed on her knees.

Is it easy to take out an element during a tumbling run? You'd think with muscle memory it'd be hard.

It almost doesn't feel like a team. Ksenia is seemingly trying to rally the troops and hold them together, but alas, not meant to be.
