Good job for Sam, very high and lot of distance, just a step to the side

I guess the NBC crew will call John after today performance the ´Sacramone´ of the men´s team and how he left them down.

    So sad

I can already see NBC haunting John in the future with constant footage of this day every time he competes from now on

If the US can't get their shit together, I really really really want GB to medal.

Albyazin is the new Nemov for Russia. Someone said of Nemov waaay back when, "a gold medal proformance for a bronze medal". He is one of my new faves.

Some gymnasts excel on pirouetting, others on releases

There has to be a balance in between the value of the elements and not over-focusing in one over the other IMO

    Poor John.
What a disaster for him. He's a local and I really wanted to see him do well.

I think Orozco might want to borrow Leyva's towel and stay under it forever. Poor guy!

I think I heard its because there are some people who can do it well naturally (has to do with shoulder structure) and if you master 1 type of pirouette the others are quite similar and easier to master.

Good point. The way to get a high D score is not a secret, it's all published in the COP. Obviously execution means nothing, so throw a shit-ton of pirouettes and get a 7.8 SV.

I do sort of think it is better not to see it at this point. Although I'm also trying to avoid crying at work..

So with the bronze medal not a possibility now, I wonder how much theyll even show on NBC's primetime coverage of this.
