Theatregirl-US hasn't medaled in diving since 2000. So I think all the divers feel a lot of pressure.

I love Cynthia Potter. Too bad the gymnastics commentators don't explain things they way she does.

Ah, I see. That makes sense.

Happy crying athletes always choke me up even though the only other time I've ever seen these girls was trials.

I am sorta amused that the US divers reaction to getting the silver was so very unsynchronized with one jumping up and down and one kneeling and moved to tears

YAY for a US diving medal! I can't believe they've come up dry since 2000. Hopefully that brings up some good things for the rest of the team this week!

I doubt they would have caught up to gold, but I think US girls were underscored a few times. Still, amazing job!

I sometimes feel like diving is like ice dancing of old, where it is all about rep, and the Chinese (who are very good) get handed gold.

I mean, uh, we will try to snark without spoiling!

So why do these US divers supposedly carry the hopes of their entire team and the US Diving federation?
THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU'RE A LESSER GAY!

Because that way they can play drammmatik music and show the podium in primetime.

Apparently Kelci is a medical student at Duke? I think that's what Blythe Hartley said. So cool!

HE JUST WANTED TO KEEP HIS PRIVATE LIFE PRIVATE. LIKE ANDERSON COOPER!

If we have to watch the 400IM again, I'm going to cut a bitch.

No, worrying about how Phelps missed a medal YESTERDAY is more important.

They might as well have just re-shown it again, the rate this fluff piece is going.

I'm sure that a Dana Vollmer fluff is up next. Followed by commercials. And then we'll get to see swimming.

Those clay pigeons clearly have had it comin'. Annoying feckers, clay pigeons.

Why don't you just tell that to Kim and her gun, numbers123? I'm sure that will go real well.

These swimming commentators are making me grateful for figure skater commentators. And that makes me weep for humanity.

I wish NBC would get figure skating again.

We'd probably get Terry Gannon back.

Anyway, soooo happy for the synchro divers.
