downloading photos from droid to a mac air

I feel like such an idiot but I cannot figure out how to download photos from my droid phone onto my mac air. With my old cellphone and old laptop, all I had to do was plug my phone into the computer and it automatically started transferring the photos. Can someone please teach me how to get my photos off my cellphone and onto my mac?

When you plugged the cellphone did it mount on your desktop? (a white icon that represents the card on the phone)

Usually if you ask your Mac it will tell you how to do it. Or try the apple support forums.

There's an app called Air Droid here: I don't know if it's compatible with your specific phone, but it might do the trick.
