"awwww....shades of Janet Lynn" - Dick Button on anyone who makes more than one mistake in their program.
Wow, this is shockingly sad. A few days ago I thought of her and wondered why she hadn't been active on these boards lately. I never expected this to be the reason. Kasey, do you know the cause of death? She posted on FSU just a few days before her death and never mentioned being sick or anything.
Hey everyone, all we know about her life and death is what is in the obit. There was no completed personal contact explaining what had happened to her.
I do think what vesperholly said is important; there are so many people that I feel are "friends" here that I have never met, or have met once or twice briefly at skating events. Those friendships, when heartfelt words and feelings are shared, are no less valuable or valid than people we know and see in everyday life. I do plan on sharing with my family information to be able to share any bad events that happen to me with people who may not otherwise learn of it (although I have a lot of FSUers on my facebook friends as well, and I am sure someone from my family would post something on there; but now I'm going to make sure that happens)

I vaguely remembered Mary's username so I did a search of her posts here on FSU. The last statement she ever made on here was "I'm a very lucky lady." God bless her. RIP Mary.
Oh wow. This news is so sad.
What I remember most about MMMMary was her dedication to her job. Talking about the children she loved to protect.
Such a shock. She was so vibrant on the boards, so fierce in her Johnny fandom and such a nice lady.
So sad.![]()

I will think of her if Johnny competes at US nationals this year and raise a glass in her honor if he medals.
Your program sucks and your partner just fell: lay down and play dead or think Feck this and do a Th3A at the end of the program: Aliona Savchenko: Definition of a competitor
The children that she loved and at the end of her life the older clients who had such dire living places/experiences.
I am sure the triplets godchildren that she was so proud of miss her terribly. And yes, if Johnny competes this season I will raise a glass in Mary's honor.
Oh goodness this news just breaks my heart. Mary was one of the sweetest people and I loved chatting with her here. We always shared a bit of a bond being from the same state even though we're in opposite corners of it. I always enjoyed reading her posts and loved how passionate she was about her job even when it drove her crazy at times. I was wondering about her the other day but never expected this news. She is going to be very missed and my thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.
RIP Mary![]()
An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”
"I guess I'm just...I'm not used to someone putting me first." -Emma, Once Upon a Time, episode 2x3, Lady of the Lake
This is so distressing. 58 is young. I always enjoyed her posts, even when I disagreed with her. Condolences to her family, friends and clients.

Oh my goodness. I can't believe it. I have been on this message board for 9 years now, and even though I have never met her (or anyone from this forum) in person, I will miss her posts very much. RIP mmscfdcsu.![]()
I remember her well. R.I.P. dear lady.

Whatever happened to her was either unexpected or she hid it well. Her last tweet was only two days before she passed on.
i love that her last tweet was anti tv, rip mmmary
I feel like I'm in a dream. But it can't be a dream because there are no boy dancers!

Oh gosh, we're losing too many of our kind souls here. Will miss her.
Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened. -- Anatole France
I wondered why I didn't hear back from her this past Christmas.
Mary was a social worker at the Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging in Cleveland, and she worked in particular with mentally ill seniors in the partial day hospitalization program, something I learned when she was scrambling to try and get a few dollars to buy holiday gifts for the indigent seniors in her program a couple of years ago.
If anyone is inclined, donations can be made for her program at
http://www.benrose.org/Donate/DonateNow.cfm
and you can either specify "holiday gifts for adult partial day program clients" or leave it as general. Or, you can make a donation and send the development office a note; they're good about making sure it goes to the right place.
So sad
Saddened to hear this. RIP Mary.
