Great Britain is in danger of not qualifying any entries into semis.

Do the scores in diving carry over to the next round?

WOW! Mears of GB just barely qualified. He nabbed the last spot in the semis (18th)!

Hope Qin Kai already use his quota of mistake here and go great in Final.

Scores from prelims do not carry over unfortunately. It's similar to gymnastics qualifications in that way.

Guess it is too early then to crown Zakharov Sautin's heir apparent. But here's to hoping Zakharov wins gold!

Congrats to both our Canadian divers -- Alex for again doing the dive where he injured himself and to ??? (I've lost his name ... hold on, going to go look for him). OK, found him, Francois. He scored over 90!!!!! on his final dive and put himself into the semis. WTG guys. Good luck tomorrow!

Colwill finishes last in the semis.

Looks like dive #5 was a mess and #6, if it even happened, was a disaster.

Poor Chris! It appears he just scratched himself out of the event after the severe miss on dive 5 figuring he most likely had no shot of advancing to the finals. How sad for him!

After 2 rounds of diving in the men's 3m springboard final, Zakharov of Russia is on fire! He's been the most consistent, dependable diver through the prelims, semis, and now here with all the difficulty needed to challenge for gold and he currently has the lead. Surprisingly, both Chinese divers are currently out of medal position. Qin is China's best hope now! Castillo of Mexico and Dumais of the USA still going on strong and steady and are currently in medal position!

I wish Dumais had more difficulty. I don't think he has the difficulty to medal, but good for him for having a good showing here.

Castillo is here to play and is really distancing himself from the medal challengers. I totally expect him to win silver or bronze if he maintains this level of diving!

Has Mexico always been so strong in diving or is this a recent thing?

I don't recall them making as many big waves at an Olympic Games before like they are doing here now. How awesome it is to see China getting a major scare from Russia and Mexico! I love seeing the wealth being spread around to other nations.

More steady consistency from Troy Dumais; now if he only had the difficulty he could possibly be challenging for gold!

They've always had a good diving program. But they've never been this successful.

    Go Yahel! Go Ilya!
