    Blanka Vlasic Out of Olympics

    Former Olympic high jump silver medallist Blanka Vlasic has withdrawn from the London Games after failing to recovery from injury.

    The 28-year-old Croatian has undergone two operations on an Achilles tendon problem and today conceded defeat in her battle to fully recover in time for London.
    To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.

    That sucks. I don't know much about ages and high Jump but is 2014 a possibility?

    I'm so sad to hear this. No matter what the country or the sport, it is always awful to hear of someone so talented missing the Olympics.

    I loved watching her compete. Best wishes to her in the future.

    Now please, no more injuries to any Olympians!
