Gonna have to go with Slutskaya, even though I think she was great. No one has the competitive record of Kwan, nor the artistic power, and Yu-Na is an Olympic gold medalist who basically creamed the rest of her field (she's no Baiul or Hughes or even Ilia Kulik, who I tried to vote out before a non-OGM winner in the men's poll).

I voted for Kwan because I felt that her programs on the whole were pretty empty and she mainly used the music to carry her through everything.

Tough to eliminate Slute, since she certainly had longevity.
In my spare time, I like to interview figure skating legends.

Obviously you have never watched anything between 1995-2001.

Slutskaya. She simply doesn't have the complete package. I would say she had the complete package with her programs for 2000-01, but that was it.

I rewatched Slutskaya's 2005 Worlds LP, and though it was an emotional program, I was shocked by how sloppy she was. Her program was memorable, but it certainly doesn't go down as one of the great progrmas of all time.

I don't see how you can put Slutskaya ahead of Kim, who has the complete package and can do difficult triple-triples, and skated the best Olympics LP in recent history. IMO, it goes without saying that Slutskaya should go before Kwan.

She did, but it should be kept in mind that it's an FSU poll. A popularity contest at that. Seen from that perspective, skaters like Lipinski or Hughes had no shot at all from the beginning.

Anyway, based on this final 3 I'd have to say perhaps Slute. Although I could make a case for Kim as well.

The game is ending with a fizzle it looks like. Slutskaya voted out easily this round, then Kwan crushing Kim easily in the finals. I expect if this was just after Vancouver it would have been closer between the two than the final round will be.

I voted for Yuna Kim even I like her more than Michelle or Irina. M&I's longevity are worthy and inspiring, IMO.

It has to be Yuna, I m way more emotional about Michelle and Irina. I think their skating was more sincere.

Voted to boot Kim mostly because of Slute's longevity (including two different comebacks).

I see that everyone is buying into this longevity crap, so I decided to compare the results of their first 5 senior years, as that's how long Kim has skated, SO FAR

    1st worlds
    Kim bronze
    Kwan 4th
    Irina 7th

    2nd worlds
    Kim bronze
    Kwan gold
    Irina bronze

    3rd worlds
    Kim gold
    Kwan silver
    Irina 4th

    1st olys
    Kim gold
    Kwan silver
    Irina 5th

    4th worlds
    Kim silver
    Kwan gold
    Irina silver

    5th worlds
    Kim silver
    Kwan silver
    Irina not qualified

Also, by this time Kim had stop competing at nats already having won, Kwan had 3 nat tiles and irina had 0.

I started Kwan off in 95 to even it with the others, but even then, the current discussion seems to be irina vs Kim.

So....basically it took irina twice as long to reach Kwan and Kim's level. Doesn't that make her the weakest skater?
