    The Torch Comes to Windsor

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh welcomed the Olympic Torch to Windsor Castle on Monday.

Hello ~ Royal seal of approval for the Olympic torch

In the castle's quadrangle the royal couple watched as 74-year-old Gina Macgregor ran into the open space proudly carrying the flame.

Moments earlier, grey skies which had been threatening all day unleased a torrential downpour. So Mrs Macgregor arrived soaking wet when she was met by the Queen, wearing a rain cape and carrying an umbrella.

Laughing, she told the couple: "I looked fine this morning," to their great amusement.

The pictures are darling. The Queen looks genuinely excited and Prince Philip looks like he is feeling much better after his hospital stay.

One mistake in the article - Roger Bannister did not run the first 4-minute mile in 1854. It was 1954. Nice picture of him.

I caught that mistake about Sir Roger too.

Yes, they truly were excited to welcome the Torch to Windsor weren't they? In a couple of pictures, they looked like two little kids who can't seem to stay still and are plotting some sort of mischief to pull off later.

Isn't that wonderful to see from them? Especially after the DoE's health scares the last few months too.
