Just has been almost routine now that there is a major injury in preparations leading up to the Olympics. Crossing my fingers, toes, eyes, and everything else that that is not the case this time around!
Samanth Peszek was also injured during the Olympics in '08. The men used two alternates. I also hope there are no injuries between now and the Olympics or during the games. At the same time I hope the alternates are training well.

Putting her up last worked beautifully as I think it inflated her score. She had only a 9.7 start value, a couple shaky moments, and still managed a 9.4.

Ugh, really? They have camp? I don't want them to go to another effin camp. Those girls don't need camp, they are ready to go.

They *DO* need camp-- they need it to determine the line up for the actual competition.

I think you mean "Rock Center," but it'd be awesome if she really were on "30 Rock."

Ugh. Let's hope the SI Olympic Preview cover jinx doesn't happen this time around.

Some fun articles are popping up all over the country -

Aricle about the US women on the cover of SI

Jonathan Horton - team leader and captain.

Guard Young's gym I have friends who would have loved finding a non-competitive gym for their children.

US outfits made in China. Russian gymnasts outfitted byyyy???

Anna Li still wants to learn harder skills

In 2004 though no alternates were used although they were named.

    Carly
    Courtney K
    Courtney M
    Terin
    Mohini
    Annia

Kupets got the injury but competed as it was after prelims so they couldn't have done anything about it. Memmel, Schweikert, and Ishino were the alternates.

    The men's team was:

    Paul
    Morgan
    Brett
    Blaine
    Jason
    Guard

This was the original team named no? I remember some questioning putting Guard on the team over Raj but there was never a switch.

I like the teams selected and hope no one is lost to injury.

Looks like the US men are having fun! Sam and John Orozco managed to get themselves into the Olympic rings.

There was an amusing conversation between Aly and Sam where she said that she wanted to get up there and he said they'd help her once the girls were off lock down. Lol.
