There are no more Free Skate Finals at Thornhill!!

What a step in the wrong direction for Skate Canada.

Since when does Skate Canada run this competition? As far as I know, it's put on by the central Ontario section.

Live stream link (West Arena): http://www.ustream.tv/channel/cos-summer-skate-2012

Like last year, it looks videos are not being archived from this competition (unlike at Quebec & BC SummerSkate).

Junior Men's Short Program is scheduled for tonight from 9:50-11:00 PM (lots of Novice and Juvenile Ladies until then).

Junior Short Dance 2nd group is in progress... Marina Zoueva was with her new team of Courtney Baay/Nick Toth. Bent/MacKeen are leading with an unofficial score of 54.90. I missed Desveaux/Razgulajevs (assume they are 2nd), Kuzmich/Hockley are currently 3rd with 42.88.

    ETA results:
    1 Bent/MacKeen 54.90
    2 Desveaux/Razgulajevs 46.01
    3 Collins/Seymour 43.96
    4 Kuzmich/Hockley 42.88
    5 Penkov/Proulx-Sénécal (new) 41.43
    6 Glavine/Hough 34.26
    7 Baay/Toth (new) 32.26
    8 C. Glastris/N. Lettner (new) 30.30

Senior Short Dance is next - start order is:
1 Alexandra Paul / Mitchell Islam Barrie SC/Barrie SC CO
2 Mélissande Dumas / David Mackay Perry CPA Laval/Club De Patinage Des Deux-Rives QC
3 Alissandra Aronow / Collin Brubaker USA/USA HQ
4 Kharis Ralph / Asher Hill Scarboro FSC/Scarboro FSC CO
    5 Federica Bernardi / Christopher Mior Italy/Italy
6 Piper Gilles / Paul Poirier Scarboro FSC/Scarboro FSC CO

Well, Paul/Islam got through their program without some kind of disaster. Good.

The program looks like it should be in good shape by their Salt Lake City assignment.

Paul's costume was unflattering---she looked frumpy. She is short-waisted and the full net skirt does nothing for her body line.

An "IMO" would be appropriate in your post, or an "I think", since it is only your opinion. I disagree.

It's confusing to have two prominent American skaters with very similar last names (Brubacker/Brubaker). I was wondering if they were related, but given the different spellings of their last names they can't be.

ETA: Too bad about the twizzle problem, because they skated very well otherwise. That probably cost them several points, with the GOE downgrade and the level downgrade.

Collin Brubaker is Rockne's brother, I think. I think they misspelled his last name? Or is there a Collin Brubacker too?

"Brubacker" is a misspelling. Collin Brubaker is Rockne's younger brother.

Unofficial scores after the 1st group:
    Paul/Islam 58.30
    Aronow/Brubaker (USA) 45.85 - their competition debut
    Dumas/Perry 38.34

I agree that it wasn't very flattering.

They've just said that the Italians are the "final" competitors. Wonder why Gilles & Poirier withdrew?
Can't skate but love to watch
