This might be heresy to say on a figure skating board, but I enjoy the summer olympics much more than the winter ones.
To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.

And you an admin. Tsk. The people they promote into important jobs these days.

I prefer the winter Olys and not just for the skating. Some of the skiing and X stuff is fun to watch. But between the gymnastics, equestrian (if they show any!) and diving, I figure I'll have enough to watch the next two weeks as well.

I haven't been paying too much attention to politics lately. It pisses me off and I already know who I'm voting for but I had always thought that Romney was somewhat competent but I had no I idea he was such a complete maroon.

Same for me. It's probably partly due to the fact that I could devote more time to watching it when I was younger because it occurred when I was on summer break. Or because gymnastics is my favorite sport.

I'm with you, fred. I watch way more in the summer. Winter, I pretty much only watch figure skating.

I confess that I have the feeling of summer being the "real" Olympics

You don't think Olympic athletes can tolerate a locker room type bathroom? Ok.
I am in the K&C at the 1980 Olympics telling Frank Carroll he will have a male skater from KAZ with a 4T, 3A-3T and a World Silver going into the 2014 Olympics ...

Same for me, but only because I enjoy more sports. Other than figure skating, none of the winter sports interest me. Whereas with the summer Olympics, I love to watch gymnastics, and will tune into swimming, track and field and diving.
